A Week in the GLPS Camp

   People wonder what the students of GLPS Camp do. I would like to post pictures and write essays about it for a week. The reason is that I can forget about the things that happened in the GLPS Camp. Even if you write things in your diary, you can forget how it looked, so I am now trying to do a photo essay. The pictures are going to be related to the things that happen GLPS Camp and Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. I will now post the picture from Tuesday and write a little bit about it. I hope that after, you can also make a photo essay. It is a good way to remember what happened everyday.

Today is Tuesday, the first day I took a picture for the photo essay. Look at the boys. What are they seeing?   I just want to go inside the picture and see what it is. Are they taking a picture like me? They make me curious. Maybe it is a shining coin! But maybe not... My opinion is that since the weather isn't that good and cloudy, maybe the thing that they are looking at is something that I don't like too much. That reason makes me think that the thing is a squirming disgusting bug (maybe). I hope that it is a coin that is worth 500 won instead so that I can buy a drink from the vending machine.

Today is the second day for me to write a photo essay. While I am passing the Chung-Mu Building to go to the Dasan Building for a writing lesson, I see students taking a lesson outside with a teacher. I think that they are the students that came for the Science Camp. I wish I can take a lesson outside also... Sometimes I fall asleep since it is so boring and quiet, but having a lesson outside makes me better. Listening to the sounds of the nature.... That is way more awesome...

    Today was Thursday, the day when we present our history presentations. Giving presentations... It makes me nervous. I am also the contestant of the presentation contest, so I need to prepare more than the others. It is hard.. I always need to use the second self-study time while my friends are sleeping. I hate to study until twelve o'clock. It makes me sleepy during lessons the next day. I don't want to doze every time in classes especially math time. Anyways, I was the first of fifteen people to present! I was so angry at Jerry, my history teacher because he chose me to do the presentation first. The presentation needed more preparation as I listened to my history teacher. I hope that I can do a good job in the presentation contest!

  We, the GLPS Camp students are going to our adviser's class right now. It is morning right now. As you can see, I am going near the Chung-mu and the Dasan Building. My legs are sore... It takes time to go to my Adviser's class and my backpack is so heavy. The class is so far from the dormitory.. I wish that my Adviser's class was at the English Building, which is right next to the dormitory. I don't want to think about going up to the dormitory after the 4th period, to get our lunch. It's like this really horrible nightmare that I don't want it to happen. I wouldn't complain if there is a car or other things that can carry me to my class or the dormitory. Somebody, please send me a car or carry me!!

  

Today was the presentation contest! I was so nervous because I was the second student to give a presentation! The picture on the left is me, giving out handouts to the judges. The reaction was not that bad than I thought. I think that I fought with my nerves and thought that I will not die even if I make a mistake.. That made me more courageous to give a presentation better. The result will be out on next week Friday night. I am not expecting to win a prize since there were many more students who were better than me at giving presentations. I am just proud of myself to be chosen by the teacher and be a participant in the GLPS Presentation Contest. I am also happy to give information and my opinion to others. I wish that I could come to the GLPS Camp next time and participate in the Presentation Contest again to see how much I have improved since the last time. 

 Finally it is Sunday!! Sunday is the only time that I can have the fun. When I got my phone, I started to do Kakao Talk with my friend, Michelle. We are keep messaging each other. This is the thing that I do when I have a free time. I sometimes text with my mom. I have so much time left until the CA (Club Activity). I am going to eat (cookies) and play with my phone. When I am in the Dasan Auditorium for the CA, I watched a movie called "Happy Feet". It is about a penguin that taps his feet to the rhythm and going on an adventure. I actually didn't watch the movie because I watched it before and I knew that it was boring to me. Instead, I did Kakao Talk with my friend and my mom.  I am happy to play all day except for doing public services in the morning. I even don't need to write movie reviews.

   Our class is having a debate with Class 6 tomorrow! >_<The proposition is, "Pororo is better than Pikachu" and our class's team is on the Government side of this debate, so our team believes that Pororo is better. I wonder what would happen tomorrow. I hope that our team wins, but I won't choose my class's team because it is our class, I will choose by how much both teams are good at presenting arguments, rebutting, and doing POI (asking questions in the middle of a debate). I am having big expectations for our class tomorrow. Everybody FIGHTING!!

   It was challenging while I was doing my photo essays. It takes a lot of responsibility to take a picture everyday. Reader, you could also try this. It is very fun and exciting. It is a good thing to do if you want to remember things that happened in the past. Be sure to have a big responsibility. It is easy to forget taking pictures. I hope that after you have also tried doing photo essays, try telling other people. Make sure you have a camera and a computer with you or a diary. Good luck!

Would You Like to Make Things Happen?

   There was a girl who can make things happen as she wanted to be. That girl's name is Michelle, a close friend of Karen and Jina. It was a night of Michelle's birthday. She got the ability to make things happen by imagining that day. She decided to go on an adventure with her best friends, Jina and Karen. All of them like a K-POP boy group called Infinite.

So Michelle, Jina, Karen thought about meeting Infinite. Since, Michelle could make things as she wanted, she became the leader. When they met Infinite, Michelle made Karen and Jina trapped inside a black room where you can't go out and made Infinite stay with only her. Karen and Jina were trapped inside with nothing.

 Michelle, who became evil, made everything hers. She trashed her friends so that it was her world. The trapped girls...

My Movie Review

   There were parts that I thought were good and bad. The reasons that I thought this movie was bad were because the movie's characters talked too fast so I couldn't hear, I read the Wizard of Oz, and finally, it was too unbelievable. I thought that some parts were good because it shows us bravery and not to give up. It also shows us friendship from the characters that go to Oz. The good part tells us a lesson. I hope that you also watch this movie.

My Movie Review

   

There are eight main characters that comes out in the movie. The girl and the dog's name is Dorothy and Toto. They are the characters that came to the Land of Oz by a tornado in Kansas. Their house lands in Munchkin Country. The Munchkins and Glinda the White Witch gather around because under the house was the Wicked Witch of the East. Since the house's owner was Dorothy, she gets the ruby shoes from the Wicked Witch of the East's feet. But the ruby shoes didn't matter to Dorothy, as she wanted to go to Kansas. So Glinda told them about the Wizard of Oz, so Dorothy and Toto follows the yellow road that goes to the Emerald City. The two characters meet three more friends that want to obtain things that they think they don't have. The first friend is Scarecrow who wants to have a brain, the second friend is the Tin Man who wants to have a heart, and the last friend is the Lion who wants to have courage. The five characters go to the Emerald City so that they can have their wishes come true. When they reached the Emerald City and met the Wizard of Oz, they got to find out that there is a task to make their wishes come true. They needed to take the Wicked Witch of the West's broom. They defeated the witch and bring the broom to Oz. But they figured out that he was a normal person like Dorothy. However, Oz finds out ways to help the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion. He also finds out a way for Dorothy and Toto to go on a hot air balloon. Unfortunately, Dorothy misses the hot air balloon and Oz goes by himself, so Dorothy and Toto were left in the Emerald City. Suddenly, Glinda the White Witch appears to help them. She say to tap three times with the ruby shoes that they got when they killed the Wicked Witch of the East. Dorothy said " There is no place like home" many times and thought about her home. She comes back to Kansas with Toto. That's how the story ends. 

My Movie Review

   The Wizard of Oz was made into a movie. The movie that I saw was the original movie that was made in 1939. This movie's genre is fantasy. You can know that it is fantasy when the girl and the dog goes to another land by a tornado, thing that talk, and also by the witch. It is also an adventure because the characters go to places even though the know that it is dangerous.

My last goal

   I want to post my last goal. During the camp, I made many friends by myself. My goal is to do the same thing everywhere I go. I want to make friends not by someone else. These are the two things that I can do to make friends. I can speak to people that I don't know like "Hi" every time I passed them. Also, I can be nice to people rather than being mean. More people will like me if I am nice. This is a good thing to achieve when I am in this camp. I hope you, visitor also make your own 30-day goals. Thank you.

My second 30-day Goal

   I want to post my second 30-day goal. My second goal is to be confident while I'm giving a speech. I want to achieve this goal while I'm in this camp. There are things to make this happen. I can make my voice bigger, make eye-contacts and more. I can practice in front of the mirror. I could also not read my speech to make eye-contacts. I can make notes instead of writing the whole speech. I can test these before I give the speech in this camp. I hope I get more confident after I did the things that I listed. Thank you for seeing my post.

My first 30-day Goal

   I have three goals I want to accomplish for 30 days. I am going to explain the first goal on this first paragraph. During the camp, I have thought about losing 4.4 lbs. Since I use the stairs if there are no space for me in the elevator, I thought about going up the stairs before I eat anything. I was a good plan since my room of GLPS was in the 6th floor and the cafeteria was on the 12th floor. I did a big promise to myself but I won't give up. Another way to lose 4.4 lbs, is to walk to close places instead of using cars, subway, bus etc. There are 2 things that will help if I really achieved it. I will lose weight and I will save money. It costs money to use cars, taxis, buses, subways etc. I hope I don't give up and make me achieve this goal.

  Hello. I am Jina Son, the owner of this blog. I would like you to know about myself before you get to know about my three 30-day goals. I am a Korean girl and I was born on March 5th, 2002. So I am 12 years-old in Korea and 11 years-old in the U.S. I went to the U.S. when I was in 1st grade. I lived in Los  Angeles, California for 3 years. I came back to Seoul, Korea in 5th grade. Some of my hobbies are, soccer, cooking, and to listen to music. I want to be a lawyer or a chef when I grow up.
